Meet Elma Akob

Elma Akob is an award winning speaker and MC who has hosted over 150 events in 4 different continents. She uses her voice to inspire, challenge and advocate. Whether it’s leading global conversations, presenting thought-provoking keynotes or being a voice over artist for over 100 companies, Elma provides more than just a voice, she offers the words that match. Her unique edge? As a PhD candidate, Elma brings an articulate and intellectual edge to every event she hosts. She understands both the art and science of event production, so she brings a presence, a plan, and a purpose.

Elma's journey is a testament to the power of resilience, passion and purpose. Her academic qualifications include a degree in BCom Law, Communication Management Honours, a Masters degree in Strategic Business Management, and she is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Corporate Sustainability at the University of Pretoria.

Elma’s love for MCing and speaking started at a very young age with her first international appearance being at the UN Headquarters in New York when she was just 16. She presented a speech in front of UN delegates and 186 youth from all over the Globe titled “Dare to Dream” where she challenged young people to dream of a better tomorrow. This is also where she received her first standing ovation. Since then, Elma brings her unmatched charisma, professionalism, and cultural fluency to every event.

Elma is also the founder and CEO of Elevate Africa Academy, an award-winning company that prides itself on passing on the gift of public speaking to individuals, corporates and students. With 400+ trained from 5 African countries thus far, Elma is building the next generation of eloquent African speakers.
